Longhorn Athletics

RBV has a rich athletic tradition and currently offers 25 varsity sports.  In the Fall we have football, girls tennis and golf, field hockey, boys water polo, boys and girls cross country.  In the winter we have boys and girls basketball, wrestling, soccer, and girls water polo. The spring sports are softball, baseball, boys tennis and golf, and boys and girls Track & Field, Lacrosse and swimming. There are so many choices to participate in Longhorn athletics and hopefully you will play multiple sports.  RBV, in its over 30 years of existence, has won over 80 league championships, 28 CIF Titles, and numerous CIF Finalists.

RBV Athlete of the Month - October

    Girls Tennis - Andrea Garcia

Andrea has been a crucial part of both our Varsity and JV teams this season. On JV, she usually played singles and had an impressive record. She showed that she could be a natural leader for many of our new players. Andrea was also very flexible and played Varsity whenever I needed her, even in some extremely tough matches. She is a true team player and does whatever is best for her teammates

    Football - Jose Ramos

He is the football player of the month for October.  Jose leads by example and shows that hard work does pay off.  Jose is an Inside Linebacker and running back for us.  HE is always in the middle of the action and is asked to be physical and make tough plays.  Jose has recently been asked to fill in at running back after an injury.  He is also a mainstay on Special Teams.  Jose’s hard work in the weight room has helped him continue to improve and get stronger as the season goes on.  He is a key part of our team and we are all proud of Jose.  Congratulations!

Week of October 24 Athletes of the Week

    Girls Tennis

    Stella Lieberman

We started CIF Team this past week and even though Stella has played doubles for most of the season, I asked her to play singles. Stella stepped up and did what was needed for her team even though she was probably a little bit nervous at first. She ended up playing singles the entire week (4 matches) and won some very crucial sets throughout the week. She played against some of

the best players in the division and stayed calm under immense pressure. In her first set of the championship match, she was down 1-4 and came from behind to win 7-5. Her strength and poise helped our team achieve victory and we won the Division 3 CIF Tennis Team

    Boys Water Polo

    Zach Jaehn

For 4 years Zach has been part of the water polo program.  His tireless support of his fellow teammates and dedication is admirable.  He is always the first in the water and the last out.  He is a leader for the new athletes.  Congrats to Zach Jaehn.
